The ribbon works
Out back, past the museum shelves, a winder from 1951 still runs. Wax ink is mixed in small batches and wound by hand, because the machine does not know when a spool is honest.

By post
Ribbons ship anywhere in the valley by Friday, and further by arrangement. $9 each, three for $24. Order at the counter or through the intake form; the form is a demonstration, the counter is real.
The ink room
The mix changes with the weather. A dry August wants looser winding; a wet November wants the lid on the vat and patience.
The Century Green batch of 1968 was mixed for a customs office that never collected. It became our most requested accident.
